Austin Water is reminding customers that they started the winter wastewater averaging cycle on November 15th that will be used to calculate wastewater charges for 2012/13.
Customers will be billed based on three billing periods of water usage between the 15th and mid-March 2013. Wastewater is the liquid waste discharged by residences, commercial properties, agriculture and industry that contains contaminants and gets treated before being released into the Colorado or used in reclamation projects.
To find out about your particular billing cycle, you can check the Austin Water website.
Therefore it is important for property owners to continue to conserve water during the winter months to reduce these charges. Stage II water restrictions are still in effect and due to the cooler weather it may be possible to eliminate your irrigation water needs depending on your situation.
It is also a good time, if you have issues with your irrigation system, to get them taken care of. A properly functioning irrigation system will save you money and keep your property properly watered with a minimum of fuss and bother.
